What makes InHealth Unique?
- Our whole person approach to health
education using video stories of local community wisdom
is our trademark. Video storytelling is a powerful vehicle
proven to convey complex health information and motivate behavior
changes.
- Using a train-the-trainer model we
build the capacity of individuals and organizations to provide
repeated and ongoing programming and advocacy for their constituents.
- Our collaborative approach holds us
to a level of accountability to those we serve that is unmatched
by health institutions. Committed to addressing health education
needs and disparities, we bring health education to places
where people naturally gather, including those who otherwise
have no access.
Mission & Goals
InHealth
WI is a non-profit dedicated to creating insightful, interactive,
and inspiring programs and training that build
capacity within individuals and communities to transform health
and well being. Our vision is one of healthy communities where
health education addresses the whole person, is delivered and
accessible to the underserved, and where health disparities
are diminished through effective community collaborations.
InHealth creates programs inspired by the needs of the community,
working in partnership with organizations with similar missions
to maximize program efforts and resources. Using video story
telling, multimedia, art, and music, InHealth programs explore
and connect the physical, emotional, social and spiritual dimensions
of health.
Programs & Qualifications & Approach
Since
2000, InHealth WI has produced numerous educational programs
that include heart health, stress, breast cancer, depression,
and healthy aging. In addition, we have created health education
curriculum for agencies and organizations to use within their
own programs on such topics as human growth and development,
communications skills, and youth development. Staff has advanced
degrees in education and administration with combined experience
of over 45 years in youth and adult education, program development,
administration, and training.
InHealth
Programs are effective.
Participants report increased
knowledge and understanding of complex health issues, positive
lifestyle behavior changes,
and more effective advocacy skills. Lucille, program director
for
the Midtown Neighborhood Association, best describes her
experience: “ I find
that the ongoing support, willingness to create a program
around the people you are dealing with, and
programs
that get the information into the heart of a person, make InHealth
a one-of-a-kind resource!”
