A Ragin’ Cajun Evening Celebrating Eight Years of InHealth
Many Thanks to All Who Attended & Supported this Successful Community Event
A Ragin’ Cajun’ good time was had by all who attended InHealth's Annual Event on Friday, October 12th, 2007 at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center. Guests enjoyed a casual reception in the MYAC Commons and a jambalaya buffet in the Debut Hall. catered by Larry's Brown Deer Market, while listening to performances by the student steel drum band "Calypso" from the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra.
The evening's program featured a presentation by teens Emily Belke and Michael Hoffman of the Teen Health Crew (Children’s Health Education Center) who spoke of their involvement in the "It's Time! Teens Supporting Teens" peer education project on adolescent mental health. The program included video clips of area youth sharing their stories about depression from the InHealth peer program. Teen volunteers from the Teen Health Crew served tables and helped throughout the evening under the supervision of their advisor Clay Anton. Emcee Ted Kellner led the "Head or Tails" game that produced generous support for InHealth programs as did a cash raffle. All proceeds from the evening go directly to program creation and delivery thanks to the generous support of event sponsors.
